Look for me to post more of Wanda’s Amish recipes in the future, and i thank Wanda Brunstetter for allowing me to post these on Amish Stories. Richard
Don’t miss Jeans post this Tuesday along with an Amish recipe ! |
Morning folks and it looks to be a very above normal day with 80 degrees on the forecast today. I have a few more recipes from Wanda that ill post a little here and there. Richard
I was able to figure out i think how to allow more of my post stay on the first page, so if it works ill have double the amount of post on when you first get on Amish Stories. Otherwise the Bonanza post would have disappeared a while ago into a blogger twilight zone(the next page). And believe or not I've recieved some e-mails asking me if i have more posts on the blog because they are only seeing like 3 or 4, and i think some folks wont bother to go to the next page to the older stories! Well at least i feel like I've accomplished something Sunday on blogger with this mini break through, lol. I'm out of here folks and i hope you enjoy Wanda's recipe from one of her cook books. Richard
Thank you for Wanda's recipe. I read all her books. I am waiting for her latest to come in the local libraries so I can read it as it is the next in a series of hers I am reading. A beautiful day in Palmyra today. The sun is shinning and we might hit the 80's again-three days in a roll in October-that's unusual.
Thanks so much for a wonderful recipe that's perfect for fall weather! Can't believe you are to be warmer than us here in NW Arkansas today. We are finally getting a little rain and it's wonderful. Thanks so much for the nice comments today on Granny Mountain. I agree, I have hope that we will get turned in the right direction again. I just get disgusted with all the bad news out there, we need some good news for a change! Thanks for the pep talk!
If only I could cook. . .these foods sound delicious!
Thank you, Richard for all these lovely recipes. I will try the apple bread first. Look for a post on it on my blog.I promise it won't look like a potato pancake! :)I enjoyed catching up here!
Good morning (morning for me) from Anchorage AK. We are getting cooler here, definitely chilly at night but when I let my dogs out to potty my bare feet are not totally cold. I do keep a pair of boots on my deck so I can slip my feet into them for those late night poodle pit stops! I have to help my elderly (soon to be 13 years old) standard poodle get down the deck stairs into the yard. She does very well most evenings and the stairway is lighted.
Hi Ina,You have a 13 year old poodle !! I had poodles and one lived to be 17.Right now I have a chihuahua-I love him to bits-but if I were to get another I would get a poodle. I think they are so smart-they are almost like humans.
Beautiful Fall photos. Love the colors.. AND that recipe looks wonderful. YUM… Thanks so much.Betsy
Thank you for the recipe! We still have half a bag of apples from our orchard trip. Can't wait to make this one!

Greetings folks and from the e-mails that I've recieved folks seem pretty happy that I'm posting some of Wanda's recipes. I really had no idea that she also did cook book's, and from what I've seen of her recipes i can see why she wrote a few. From my understanding these recipes are mostly from the Amish that she knows, so look for another sometime down the line. Richard
Look at my new picture in my comments, now that's a pumpkin, lol. I went to a farm market this past weekend in Lancaster, and spoke to a lady who has a food stand in the Bird-in-Hand farm market. She is not Amish or Mennonite but bakes a mean cinnamon bread, and she said that i could come by and see how she makes her breads. I also bought some blackberry jam with the seeds, and the jam with the seeds seems like its getting harder to come by for some reason! That was made by the Amish and is delicious , so I'm real glad that i had the sense to by 2 good sized bottles of that sweet stuff. I also took some pictures of some of the food that's sold there, some looked at me like i was a little crazy. But i wanted some pictures of food to place on Amish Stories when i need it. Have you ever noticed how easy food is to work with when taking pictures folks, lol. I wish people were as cooperative as the food i was taking ,lol. Richard
Thanks, Richard, and Wanda too, for sharing this recipe. It looks delicious! Will be buying apples in bulk soon, so I may give this a try. 🙂
Glad you were able to pay Amish Stories a visit Karen, and if you do make this recipe maybe you can let us know how it all turned-out. I really love apples because there's so much that you can do with them, so they are a very versatile little fruit!. Richard
HI RICHARD!!!!THANK YOU FOR VISITING my friend, and what a grand recipe you have here with fabulous photos. YES, THOSE BLUE CARAMEL APPLES ARE EDIBLE! Just blue food coloring!!!! ENJOY YOUR TUESDAY, Anita
Funny that your on Amish Stories Anita, i was just on your blog and have awarded you the "Versatile Blogger award"! I recieved one on Sunday and now as required I'm giving you one. Now my assignment is complete and my work is done! So congratulations Anita and and please don't get a big ego like i did on Sunday, i had all my pajamas monogrammed with the letter "R". Lol. Good night everyone. Richard
That last photo is absolutely beautiful! A great fall scene!
Hi Richard! Your blog is absolutely beautiful! all the fall colors. It' funny that you bought the jam with the seeds in it cause I never take them out. The black berry I put up had all its seeds. I prefer it that way. I have read many of Wanda's books. Once I start a series I can't hardly put them down. Thank you for posting the bread recipe. And Lydias Charm is a wonderful story. I just finished the Rose Trilogy by Beverly Lewis and I'm also reading The Prodigal(Abram's Daughters #4)by Beverly Lewis. Good stuff!~ Lissa
The photos and recipes are wonderful, thank-you for checking out my blog and commenting so I could find yours! I decided to 'follow' you so I can keep up. Thank-you.
Dearest Richard!I was out at a writers' gathering last night and got home late so I was unable to come back to you…YOU HAVE AN AWARD FOR ME?????????Thank you sir, for taking the time to visit me….my blog is quite different from yours, yet you are kind enough to leave me comments. YOU are the winner here! I am off to work, but I THANK YOU KINDLY for the award! What are the rules? Anita
Good morning Anita, the rules are simple, first you just have to write 7 things about yourself. Which is what i did, then you should pass the same award to a blog you really enjoy and that you think is well done. That's it! Richard
Wanda's apple crumb bread sounds wonderful! So perfect for the abundance of apples right now. I see some cute little cookies above that I'm visiting next 🙂
Hi savoring, and there is no question that you know your way around a kitchen! Richard
Thanks Kathy for following me and becoming a reader, and look for more recipes from Wanda in the future. Richard
Hi Richard…So happy to have found Amish Stories. I am so tickled with this recipe. I will be making it for our Halloween celebration with the family. Sounds easy and looks so tasty. I thank you for asking Wanda, and Wanda for allowing you to share with us. What a treasure.I will have to go and start reading your Bonanza tribute, as I grew up on Bonanza. Little Joe was my favorite along with Hoss. Such a wholesome movie, loved the cook, Hop Sing as well. Thank you for the wonderful blog share. I look forward to reading more from you.Country hugs, Sherry
