Since I’ve started Amish Stories i now have a new found respect for those who have blogs, and who spend hours researching and writing for their readers. Even though some who blog say it does not matter if anyone reads what they have done, i think deep down inside it really does matter to a point because its about sharing what you have done with other people. I say this because I’m reading some very well done and entertaining blogs with very little comments from its readers, so I’m learning to have a thick skin after I’ve written something. This blogs readership is growing more and more each month, and so far I’m still enjoying doing it because with me it must be fun otherwise i wont do it. And I’m very thankful to those folks who stop by Amish Stories in their very busy schedule, and who enjoy spending some time on it. Patches dairy is a very busy business, and to be honest i have not come to know the family very well. My limited contact has been pleasant but quick, and i think i may try to learn more about a family business like Patches a little more than the average person because i really have to in writing a post. Patches dairy lets its products do all the talking, and in that respect it not only talks it “shouts”. The ice cream is great along with its milk products, and the inside eating area puts a lot of restaurants to shame when it comes to its cleanliness. I’m not getting any compensation personally for this glowing review in any way, and i never have recieved any money’s for any post that I’ve done. The original family run schwinn bicycle company no longer exists, its still around in name only. The  family run schwinn bicycle company had run into some labor issues and management changes by late 1979 and early 1980. Combined with some bad business decisions and not keeping up with Asian bicycle makers, The family run Schwinn bicycle company went into bankruptcy in 1992 and no longer existed as a family run company after that. So i have a soft spot for family operated businesses like Patches, and as long as they continue making excellent products and stay focused on the customer they should be around for a very long time to come. For me when a company like schwinn looses its heart and soul (the family) , it sometimes loses its passion. So when in the Lebanon/Lancaster area check out one of its many family run companies, and grab yourself a cold homemade ice cream cone at Patches dairy in Lebanon county. Here is their web site www.patchesfamilycreamery.com. Richard from Amish Stories.
